How Pitch works in Pindown: the format for in-depth information—tabbed narrative decks built from live pins, not static slides.

Pitch is Pindown's format for in-depth information when you need more than a quick slide. It is a narrative deck built from pins and tabs—not a PDF export—so metrics, charts, and copy stay live in your workspace.

Need a fast swipe deck? Use Showcase—the slide alternative. Need a meeting-ready story with room to go deep? Use Pitch.

What a Pitch is

A Pitch combines:

  • Deck tabs — Overview, Product, Traction—each holding pins, a Page, a Pinboard, or even a Showcase
  • Depth per tab — multiple pins, full pages, or whole pinboards—not one headline per slide
  • Shareable narrative — one link for stakeholders; editors keep updating pins behind the scenes

Update a stat card once and every Pitch tab that uses it stays current. No re-export, no version drift.

When to use a Pitch

  • Fundraising or board meetings — story arc plus live metrics and Q&A depth
  • Sales and customer reviews — demo embed, ROI tables, objection handling in tabs
  • Product and strategy readouts — narrative backed by research pins from the workspace
  • Anything too detailed for a Showcase — when five swipe slides are not enough

Pitch vs Showcase vs Page

Rule of thumb: Showcase = “here are the highlights.” Pitch = “let's walk through the full story.”

Getting started

  1. Outline tabs to match how you present (problem → solution → proof → ask).
  2. Add depth per tab—multiple pins, or attach a whole Page or Pinboard.
  3. Reuse pins from Pages and Pinboards.
  4. Generate from /home chat; refine tabs in the Pitch editor.

Frequently asked questions

How is Pitch different from Showcase?

Showcase is the slide alternative—swipe through a short sequence of pins. Pitch is for in-depth information: tabs, nested pages, and enough room for a real conversation.

Do I still need Google Slides?

Many teams use Pitch as the source of truth for data-driven narratives and export slides only when a venue requires a static file.

Can a tab point to a whole Pinboard or Page?

Yes. Tabs can attach pins, a Page, a Pinboard, or a Showcase—so a traction tab might be a full pinboard while overview stays lightweight.

Which pin types work best?

Intro, image, text-media, stat-cards, charts, embed, timeline, roadmap, and mermaid cover most in-depth decks.
